JOB DESCRIPTION: DESIGN ENGINEER Specialization: Sheet Metal Development nn MANDATORY TECHNICAL PREREQUISITES (CRITICAL SCREENING CRITERIA) • SolidWorks Proficiency: Robust capability in 3D Modeling, Sheet Metal environment modules, and complex assemblies. • Sheet Metal Development: Practical understanding of fabrication layout planning, blank length calculation, material thickness variations, and bend allowance formulas. • AutoCAD Drafting: Expert knowledge in generating precision 2D detailing, manufacturing views, and geometric tolerances. Role Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Design Engineer to join our core manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for building precise engineering structures, mechanical designs, and technical production drawings. The ideal candidate actively possesses a firm grasp of CAD applications, general computational workflows, and clear workplace communication structures. Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties • Design & Modeling: Create and optimize accurate 3D designs and 2D engineering drawings for sheet metal products utilizing SolidWorks and AutoCAD. • Flat Pattern Layouts: Formulate production-ready flat pattern developments, structural layouts, and production drawings accounting for factory material tolerances. • BOM & Documentation: Maintain rigorous version control over blueprints, update engineering logs, and compile standard structural Bill of Materials (BOM). • Shop-Floor Coordination: Interface continuously with factory fabrication, assembly, and quality testing teams to resolve drawing changes or production bottlenecks. • Project Travel: Maintain standard operational flexibility to travel out to client environments, partner units, or secondary installations to support project execution requirements. Required Computer Literacy & Interpersonal Traits • General Computing: Strong command over standard desktop software layers, specifically Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) for production data logging. • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication competencies to seamlessly present data across departmental lines and external clients. • Adaptability: Proactive work ethic, physical agility to audit factory floor setups, and readiness to adapt to flexible project timelines.
